Another day of heavy rain on Wednesday resulting in big ponds all over town. I’m used to those lovely ice water soaked pants, boots, socks and feet from summer fieldwork, but it’s always a nice variation to get them during the coldest winter months. Particularly when you don’t even have to leave town for that. And now? Beautiful weather, rivers running full of water…Sounds like perfect conditions to venture down some glacier drainage systems. Yeah, maybe not. Let’s delay. Again. Gonna just be an entire week delay by the time we might eventually make it out. Arctic fieldwork never changes. Ok, maybe it does? Maybe it’s just getting wetter and more unpredictable. Time will tell.
