More weet feet! The melt has now really been picking up. Meltwater is pooling all over the glacier and crossing it means going through snow with up to half a meter of ice water underneath. Sometimes we cross a passage, come back a few hours later just to find a newly formed lake or channel now blocking our passage. Our lake has been growing rapidly over the past three days, now covering the entire area. The previous moulin completely disappeared under water and one can just watch the lake level go up. We managed to get our first GPS on the ice, just next to the now fully submerged moulin. Ready for a lot of action to happen this week.
