The wind is still blowing quite heavy today and expected to become even worse tomorrow. We still managed to do some water sampling close to the glacier front and even opened a new sampling station close to the Kronebreen front. Now we are sampling both Kronebreen and Kongsvegen every few days for nutrient analysis to see how the nutrient content in the fjord changes once the glaciers start discharging water in the fjord and particularly once our lake drains out into the fjord. Temperatures in the fjord keep increasing, another 0.2°C increase in 20 m depth within a day. Looks like the strong wind is blowing in warm Atlantic water. And of course we got another wet and bumpy boat ride home today. Can there be an Arctic field day without?
