17 days ago it took six persons and a lot of serious drugs to move me just a few centimeters. Today I managed to stand up and walk short distances again without crutches. Today was also the first day I managed to go on a hike in the forest (and not even a short one). Great to finally be able to go out again and get fresh air. Got some weird glances though when I was hiking up steep and icy forest trails with my crutches but for what else would they be mounting spikes on those things? Feels good to be able to walk on ice again and enjoy the view in the hills around town. Seems like the reward for doing a proper job when breaking my femur is a somewhat speedy recovery (thanks to a lot of metal). So should you ever plan to break a leg, make sure it’s done properly…
