You’ve probably seen all these beautiful pictures of people packing for expeditions: Everything beautifully sorted and tidy. Well that’s not my packing approach. I’d rather pile up everything and then start figuring out how I can squeeze it all in. Trying to pack for a two month long field season going from snow and hopefully some caving over to summer and lots of water. We already packed around 70 kg of equipment on Friday, now it’s more packing, without knowing how long I’ll actually stay in the Arctic as I still have a slight hope of a short Arctic season. Another 150 or so kg of equipment need to be picked up next week and more is already on the way via ship/ plane. The chaos you get when you plan complex field projects.
